You are Sherlock Holmes. The smartest person in any room (unless your brother is there), you frequently drive people crazy with your rude tone, frighteningly meticulous eye for detail and rapid-fire conversation. Some find your brusque demeanor and total disregard for social norms off-putting and you might have a hard time making friends. But you’re shockingly loyal to the (very few) people you choose to associate with voluntarily and there’s definitely a heart buried somewhere under all that arrogance. Your friend is probably right about the solar system being important, though, so maybe you should look it up.

Apt, especially considering that my smarter-than-me brother is in the room.

In keeping with the “complete” theme (and because I finished TTSS, though I’ve already started My Most Excellent year— again) I picked up The Complete Sherlock Holmes (Volume 1). They also had The Original Illustrated Sherlock Holmes which was incredibly nifty, but this edition is much more “throw it in your bag everyday” friendly. Reckon the illustrated would be fun to pick up just to have (assuming it’s still in stock) if I find the stories as thrilling as I anticipate.

Up until Benedict Cumberbatch this is what “Sherlock Holmes” brought to mind.

I get it, y’all. Started watching yesterday afternoon and to make a long story short, Matt got home last night and asked me this morning if I had been watching a movie really loudly at like 3AM. Not a movie, no…

It also made me really want to read the stories… I don’t think I ever have, though I’m pretty sure my dad used to read them to my brother and me when we were kids (am I remembering that right? or just making it up from seeing the book on the shelf?). Am currently knee deep in Ender’s Game (and just bought Ender’s Shadow), but maybe once I’m done in that world for now I’ll give ole Sir Arthur Conan a crack.
