After laundry I cooked up a couple batches of plums (now in the freezer), baked a batch of shortcake (will also go in the freezer), and a thing of brownies which turned out questionably but, like, they’re brownies. It’s gonna be fine.

I can’t stop baking. Even though I’ve been pouring sweat for like the past five hours. It’s a compulsion.

My shortcake from last night turned out a bit tough, as I expected it would, but it turns out if you drown something in plums and cream it will hide all manner of baking sin.

So I bought a bunch of plums at the greenmarket on Saturday, thinking “Oh my! Plums! How lovely!” and then that transitioned into “Oh God what am I going to do with all these plums?” and so last night I bought a pack of shortcakes and some heavy cream and made a bit o’ plum shortcake for dessert. It was quite delicious! In related news, I am definitely going to win awards in the “Worst at cutting plums away from their pits” category. Yahoo!
