My shortcake from last night turned out a bit tough, as I expected it would, but it turns out if you drown something in plums and cream it will hide all manner of baking sin.
So I bought a bunch of plums at the greenmarket on Saturday, thinking “Oh my! Plums! How lovely!” and then that transitioned into “Oh God what am I going to do with all these plums?” and so last night I bought a pack of shortcakes and some heavy cream and made a bit o’ plum shortcake for dessert. It was quite delicious!
In related news, I am definitely going to win awards in the “Worst at cutting plums away from their pits” category. Yahoo!
