PLEDGE DILEMMA ALERTZ!
So, Wait Wait’s pledge gifts were a bust (no Carl Kassel pillow. Weak) but This American Life is on now and their gift is this USB flash drive, which is awesome. My dilemma is this: do I donate now and guarantee an awesome gift, or gamble on Prairie Home Companion having an even greater gift later tonight?
(There’s a rebroadcast of TAL later tonight but I don’t know if I can count on the flash drive being available again. I tweeted @KQED, hopefully they will respond. In the next half hour.)
Edit: OK. I decided to wait it out and see what PHC has to offer. The flash drive is available from the TAL store if I have a “OMG I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT” panic moment, and there’s a chance that PHC’s gift will be (a) awesome and (b) not available in their store.
Now’s the part where I have to decide whether to take this off before I go to the other part of the apartment and get food and pretend to be (slightly) normal, or leave it on because (a) it is awesome and (b) those cinnamon buns were kinda hard to do.
So I have basically exactly as much money in my savings account as the cheapest plane tickets (well, technically $3 less) for my proto-dates.
If I get the bag, I’ll have too little.
I need the bag for the trip.
(It should be noted that I’m not buying my tickets right now. So hopefully I will save some more money.)
(Though by then the tickets will cost more ‘cause this is only a couple months in the future.)
(And if I wait to buy the bag, it will cost more, too!)
(Being young and broke is so much fun, jeezy Pete!)
So the duffel bag I want to get for my trip home this summer is 20% off for L.L.Bean Signature’s Memorial Day Sale (which is weirdly going on this weekend?) and I can’t decide whether to get the Linden (L), or the Navy (R).
(Also the sale is for an unspecified “limited time” so I need to make a decision on this prontissimo.)
