All pledge all the time | Marketplace From American Public Media

Just heard this piece on Marketplace about WQED out of Pittsburgh, which is a public television station that is all pledge drives, all the time. I’m not saying that my heart skipped a beat, but… it totally did. Now, television (public or otherwise) isn’t really my thing, but man you guys. I love pledge drives. I’m partial to KQED’s, of course, and a good portion of why I love the ‘drives (that’s right, I went there) are hearing the same people running them (and the awesome Bay Area gifts), but holy cow. They’re my favorite. Especially when they run Alec Baldwin’s promos. Apparently there’s a name for people like me– “pledge fanatics.” I’m totally OK with that.

(Also they played a Doctor Who clip in the story.)
